Abstract: I’ll introduce some basic information measures, han’s inequality for entropy and how it relates to the loomis-whitney inequality and can be used to prove an edge-isoperimetric inequality on the Boolean hyper-cube. We’ll then strengthen han’s inequality to work for KL-divergences and derive a weak form of sub-additivity of entropy. We’ll then use this to strengthen the edge-isoperimetric inequality we have and end with a few comments on the duality between the brascamp-lieb inequality and the subadditivity of entropy, including a few examples of the special cases of the brascamp-lieb inequality to illustrate the power of what is being talked about.
