Abstract: Neuroscience has been deeply connected to computer science since the era of Turing. Many developments in machine learning have been inspired by neural systems while frontier research in neuroscience have benefitted from the advance in data analysis.
In this talk, I will start with my perspectives on the current development in theoretical neuroscience. I will explain why I think it would be interesting for theoretical computer scientists to study neuroscience and how could the algorithmic lens provide more insights to fundamental problems. If time allows, I will talk about my recent works on using CS methods to study neuroscience problems.
