Abstract: Why are our brains so smart? Why can our brains remember things from a long time ago? Why do our brains have amazing creativity such as math and art (while we might believe in P!=NP)? These are all fundamental neuroscience problems, but if you asked them in a proper way, they can all be natural TCS problems in disguise!
In this casual TGINF talk, we are going to see several interesting findings in neuroscience (with a focus on “grid cells” and “inhibition-stabilized networks”) and brainstorm about the possibility of a TCS-style study in these problems!
